Three stages. One studio. Your choice of entry point.
Consultation and design, planting and landscaping, mentoring and aftercare work closely together — but you can start at whichever stage suits you. Here is how a Your Garden Project commission runs, with the timings and prices spelled out.

Typically 1–3 weeks
Consultation & concept
It starts with a two-hour consultation on site (£240 + VAT) — a written summary covering design, materials, planting, maintenance and lawn advice, which you keep. From there Steve can draw up a concept for the layout, by hand or in CAD (£250 + VAT), and a plant palette curated to your soil, aspect and brief (£250 + VAT). Because it is a design-led studio, this stage is the foundation — and plenty of clients take the written summary and run with it themselves.

A few days to several weeks
Planting & landscaping
When a design is ready to build, the studio takes it on: natural stone and porcelain paving, Yellow Balau hardwood decking, pergolas and bespoke structures, water features, oak-sleeper and stone retaining walls, fencing, irrigation and lighting, then the planting and lawns themselves. Plants are sourced through wholesale trade nursery accounts and quality-checked before delivery — and all electrical work is carried out by a NICEIC-registered contractor.

Seasonal, ongoing — your choice
Mentoring & aftercare
Not everyone wants the whole thing done for them. The IRIS verbal health-check (£80 + VAT), HEBE written report (£220 + VAT) and VERBENA practical mentoring — three or more hours of hands-on gardening alongside Steve (£300 + VAT) — exist for gardeners who want to learn and stay involved. Successional planting keeps colour coming through the seasons, so the garden goes on getting better. Gift vouchers are available for all mentoring and consultation packages.

A garden is built once and lives for decades. Aftercare is simply how it goes on developing, flourishing and maturing through the seasons — rather than slowly drifting back.
